TCI DAV Sewing Centre

TCI Foundation, in collaboration with TCI DAV School, has established the TCI DAV Sewing Centre to promote skill development and livelihood opportunities for tribal women in the state of Jharkhand. The initiative aims to empower women by providing vocational training in sewing and tailoring, enabling them to become self-reliant while preserving and showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Jharkhand through their creativity.

The Sewing Centre is established with a vision to enhance employment and to generate income opportunities for women from the tribal community. In FY 2024-25, six sewing machines were provided to strengthen the centre’s infrastructure, benefiting 34 tribal women through structured vocational training.
The centre serves as a platform for holistic empowerment by fostering confidence, entrepreneurship, and sustainable livelihoods, thereby contributing to the socio-economic development of the rural and tribal hinterland of Jharkhand
Over time, the initiative is expected to create a ripple effect within the community by encouraging greater participation of women in the local economy, strengthening household incomes, and inspiring other women to pursue skill-based livelihoods. Through this initiative, TCI Foundation continues to contribute to the socio-economic development of rural and tribal communities in Jharkhand.
