															TCI Foundation in collaboration with ILO was instrumental to implement HIV Self Screening in India which aims to reach out the truck drivers, helpers and allied population under voluntary counselling and testing @VCT campaign. The project was implemented in two phases; the first phase was implemented from 1st of September to 30th November 2021, and Second phase from 1st of February to 31st May 2022. The project was aimed to implement with two prong approach: prevention and investigation. The reactive cases were referred to the government system for confirmation and to involve them under national schemes of the government.40,957 targeted mobile population of truckers, migrants and allied were covered by well qualified health educators appointed in the project by TCI Foundation. 14,862 truckers who were not aware of their HIV status and were never tested, came to know their status. They were also infused with information, education through communication on STI & HIV prevention and control using various tools and techniques approved by NACO. 35 reactive cases were confirmed for HIV+ by the government ICTCs in respective states.

															TCI Foundation established ten Kavach Clinics on national highways to serve the truckers on prevention of HIV-AIDS and rural population for general ailments. These clinics were situated in Maharashtra, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, and Andhra Pradesh.

															TCI Foundation was instrumental to develop successful truckers programme in the country under BMGF initiative AAVAHAN launched in 2003. The best practices of the project KAVACH implemented by TCI Foundation were integrated by NACO in the national programme for truckers. The expertise of TCI Foundation was availed by NACO as National Technical Resource Group (NTRG) for national truckers’ programme for the development of training modules, capacity building of SACS & NGOs, development IEC & BCC strategies, and monitoring and evaluation of NGOs assigned to implement the truckers’ programme. TCI Foundation from 2012 has covered 10+mn bridge population and detected 348+ reactive cases.
