The Foundation was permitted to use the Government of India portal COWIN to add up vaccination data on daily basis under strict supervision of the Health Departments. The goal of this project was to arrest the spread of COVID-19 cases among highly vulnerable and marginalized population of truckers and associated high-risk population in India to reduce the morbidity, mortality, and impact of COVID-19 in the country, using immunization, one of the tools.
The project has promoted inoculation of COVID-19 Vaccine among mobile and associated high risk population through improved digital access and reaching to the unreached population implementing mobile outreach model. It minimized the incidence of COVID-19 cases among mobile population and associated high risk population through appropriate interventions and by addressing gaps in the last mile delivery through innovative approaches by introducing employer led model etc. IEC/BCC inculcated safer and appropriate behaviour and practices among mobile and associated high-risk population through Social Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC) strategy. The project was successfully accomplished with inoculation of COVID-19 vaccine to 1.55mn individuals and disseminated IEC and SBCC amongst 5+mn individuals with coverage of half of the country states and union territories. The project left a legacy of 191 health workforce fully trained to manage national medical emergency situations.
