Urmila Sports Academy, an institution of TCI Foundation, was founded by Transport Corporation of India under CSR initiative based at Nyangal Bari, Tehsil Rajgarh, District Churu (Rajasthan). The Foundation stone of the academy was laid down on 20th November 2011 by the then Hon’ble Chief Minister of Rajasthan, with an aspiration to produce the Olympians of India from Urmila Sports Academy.

The Urmila Sports Academy is affiliated by the Sports Authority of India Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports Government of India under Khelo India scheme for three Olympic Sports Boxing, Wrestling and Weightlifting for both boys and girls.

The Academy’s mission is to serve the nation as a sport excellence resource through programs of coaching, and sport science research. It continues to be the leading accredited corporate supported independent sports academy in India. Over the years, the Academy has become a national resource for sport coaching; and is famously known as “Sports Gurukul”.

The academy athletes have brought laurels for the nation and academy by representing country and academy in different competitions at national and international levels. The athletes trained in the academy have been inducted in national camps by the Sports Authority of India.
